Jess Maksut

Jess Maksut, Ph.D., is director for the Commonwealth Fund's Achieving Equitable Outcomes program. In this role, she is primarily responsible for contributing to the Fund's intramural and grant-supported health equity research projects. Prior to joining the Fund in 2025, Maksut served as a technical director for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services' Office of Minority Health, where she led projects focused on health equity performance measurement and stratified outcomes reporting. Maksut earned a Ph.D. in human development from the University of Connecticut and completed postdoctoral training in epidemiology at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
