Jess Maksut

Jess Maksut, Ph.D., is director of health equity research for the Commonwealth Fund's Achieving Equitable Outcomes program. In this role, she is primarily responsible for contributing to the Fund's intramural and grant-supported health equity research projects. Prior to joining the Fund in 2025, Maksut served as a technical director for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services' Office of Minority Health, where she led projects focused on health equity performance measurement and stratified outcomes reporting. Maksut earned a Ph.D. in human development from the University of Connecticut and completed postdoctoral training in epidemiology at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
