Nicole Van Borkulo, M.Ed., is a seasoned health care improvement leader with more than two decades of experience driving transformation across primary care, pediatrics, and safety‑net systems. Her work spans chronic disease improvement, patient and family engagement, and large‑scale practice redesign. She began her consulting career in pediatrics partnering with the National Initiative for Children’s Healthcare Quality. She later led parent and family engagement for the ImproveCareNow network, a pioneering learning health system uniting patients, families, clinicians, and researchers to improve outcomes for youth with Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. Van Borkulo’s portfolio expanded to include primary care transformation efforts nationwide, and with Qualis Health and the MacColl Center for Healthcare Innovation, she advanced the use of practice facilitation to support safety‑net clinics across multiple states in multiyear primary care redesign initiatives. Most recently, she has partnered with Delta Dental of Washington, the Arcora Foundation, and Kaiser Permanente to strengthen medical‑dental integration and expand school‑based oral health programs, improving access to dental services for children and families statewide. Van Borkulo earned an M.Ed. from Seattle University.
