Hawazin W. Elani, B.D.S., M.Sc., Ph.D., M.M.Sc., is an associate professor of oral health policy and epidemiology at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine and an associate professor in the department of Health Policy and Management at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. She is a health services researcher and a prosthodontist. Her research examines how Medicaid and Medicare policies at the state and federal levels affect dental coverage, utilization, affordability, and disparities in access to dental care among low-income and older adults. Elani earned her M.Sc. and Ph.D. from McGill University and completed her residency training at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine.
