Description: Gleave described the performance management and improvement systems in integrated delivery systems, exploring how they address the need to improve both the cost efficiency and the clinical and service quality of health care. He conducted four case studies (Kaiser Permanente Colorado, Geisinger Health System, Kaiser Permanente North West, and Health Partners Minnesota), where he undertook document review and interviews with administrative and clinical leaders. He also interviewed managers and physicians in other provider organizations and networks seeking to deliver an integrated model of care.
